Departmental Domain Chamarande

Philippe Pasqua

ALLEGORIA

After the « Musée Océanographique de Monaco », and before the take off for the Royal Ontario Museum Toronto, Philippe Pasqua is the guest of the “Domaine départemental de Chamarande” until the 30th of December 2018. With its XVII century castle, its XVIII century orangery and its English style garden park, the Domaine is the perfect place to welcome the first, French major retrospective of Philippe Pasqua’s monumental art works. umaines.

Le-chant-des-méduses

Exceptional, autodidact artist, Philippe Pasqua provokes an emotional dialogue with the public due to the monumentality of his work.

ALLEGORIA, the exhibition, reveals all the aspects of Philippe Pasqua’s creative universe, by playing with a path that combines works from the past and works from the present. Within the orangery, the majestic five-meter-long, women portraits, are exposed. In the aisle of honor, the ten-meter-tall, chrome megalodon can be found on the path to the castle. In the castle, a mix of drawings, sculptures, paintings and collages are exhibited around the installation of multiple aspects, “le chant des méduses”, a symbolic work of the artists abnormal universe.

Philippe Pasqua’s work exploits all the different senses of feelings, going from one extreme to another. With some works imbued of great smoothness, expressing true empathy for his models, others reflect a much darker aspect, sometimes primitive, or develop an almost childish humor. Whatever they may be, his creations will never fail to move you.

We wish you a magnificent journey, discovering Philippe Pasqua’s fantasy and profoundly human world, that he imagined for the Domaine départemental de Chamarande.

Welcome home!
